Course Description
Develops advanced mediation skills for navigating complex conflicts, heightened emotions, power imbalances, and impasses. Explores questioning and reframing techniques and how culture and identity influence conflict in mediation.
Intended Outcomes for the course
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
Apply advanced mediation techniques to complex and challenging conflict situations.
Apply strategies to manage strong emotions, difficult behaviors, resistance, and impasse during mediation.
Analyze power dynamics and inequities and apply strategies to address their impact on the mediation process.
