First 2016 С»Æ贫ý Sylvania Habitat Restoration Team Work Party is on Saturday February 6th 9 am to noon!
Please invite your students (and yourselves) to the С»Æ贫ý Sylvania Habitat Restoration Team’s first 2016 Work Party! We are partnering with Portland Parks and Recreation at just two blocks from С»Æ贫ý Sylvania! We have partnered since 2005 to remove invasive species at this site and to plant native species to restore this natural area.
When: 9:00 am to noon on Saturday February 6th, 2016
Where: Meet 9 am at С»Æ贫ý Sylvania Parking Lot 10 (most NE corner parking lot kitty corner from bookstore). After 9:10 am, meet at the park, although parking is easier at Sylvania and free on Saturdays!
What: Removing English ivy vines and other invasive species! Maybe some trail maintenance.
Why: Because we love Oregon’s natural ecosystems and it’s a good work out!
Important: Bring a water bottle! Dress for the weather and for getting dirty and possibly poked by a blackberry bush! Sturdy shoes recommended!
