Exempt students from using Respondus LockDown Browser

If you are using Respondus LockDown Browser with your quizzes and you have a student who needs an exemption to take the quiz without LockDown Browser. This may happen if the student is using the 小黄猫传媒 Testing Centers, or has an accommodation. The Testing Centers currently use LanSchool to monitor students during exams instead of LockDown Browser.

  • What is required: A D2L Brightspace Quiz using Respondus LockDown Browser and a student who needs an exemption.
Steps
  1. Go the the Quizzes tool and select Edit for the quiz that needs an exemption
  2. In the settings, expand the Availability Dates & Conditions section and click on the Manage Special Access button.
    The Availability Dates and Conditions settings allow you to grant Special Access for some students.
  3. Select Allow selected users special access to this quiz and click on the聽Add Users to Special Access button.

  4. Check the聽Not required to take this quiz option, then click on the name(s) of the students you wish to exempt.

  5. Click the聽Save button.

Now this student will be able to complete the exam without using Respondus LockDown Browser.
