<\/figure>\n\n\n\nTitle<\/h5>\n\n\n\n Each search result starts with the title of the article appearing in blue and hyperlinked at the top. Clicking the title takes you to the detailed record of the article, which includes information about the article and tools for saving and sharing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Publication Information<\/h5>\n\n\n\n Beneath the title is the name of the author (or authors) of the article, the title of the publication it appeared in and the date of publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Abstract<\/h5>\n\n\n\n After the publication information comes the abstract. The first sentence or so is shown with the option to “Show more” to see the full abstract. The abstract summarizes the content of the article. For scholarly articles, the abstract often explains the research question, methods, and conclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Subjects<\/h5>\n\n\n\n Below the abstract is a list of subjects the article is relevant to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Peer Review and Article Type Identifiers<\/h5>\n\n\n\n Above the title of each search result will be an indication of what kind of article it is. The most common types are periodical (magazine or trade\/professional journal article), academic journal (scholarly journal article), or news (newspaper article). If the article is peer reviewed, that will also be indicated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nAfter the subject headings, there will be a box that says \u201cAccess now PDF\u201d or \u201cAccess options\u201d with a pulldown menu that shows PDF, online full text, or \u201cFind it @小黄猫传媒\u201d to indicate how you can access the item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nIf you see “Find It @ 小黄猫传媒” <\/strong>under the “Access options” pulldown, this indicates the full text is not in the EBSCO databases. Click on “Find it @ 小黄猫传媒” to find full text through another library database or to request through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nRefining Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n On the results page under the search box are filters you can use to refine your results. You can filter by Peer Review<\/strong>, Date Range<\/strong>, or Source Type<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\nTo change the date range of articles, use the \u201cAll time\u201d dropdown to select Past 12 months, Past 5 years, or Past 10 years. Or click on \u201cadvanced search\u201d to put in a specific date range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nSearch Tips<\/h3>\n\n\n\n\nPut quotes around phrases to indicate you want the words searched in that order, for example: \u201cgender identity\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Use truncation (*) to get multiple endings of a root word, for example: teen* = teen, teens, teenagers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n Use the term OR to combine synonyms to broaden a search, for example: teen* OR \u201cyoung adult\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n You can remove the \u201cFull text\u201d filter to expand your search. If you find an article you want that says \u201cFind It @ 小黄猫传媒\u201d in the \u201cAccess options\u201d pulldown, click \u201cFind it @ 小黄猫传媒\u201d to see if it\u2019s available in another database or to make an interlibrary loan (ILL) request. ILL articles are free and usually are delivered in three days.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nSaving Your Research without a MyEBSCO account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n Click on the article title to see the options for sharing on the right side of the screen in the Tools<\/strong> icon list. This list includes the very handy cite (quote marks), share (curved arrow), and download (arrow pointing down) tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nYou can email an article to yourself from the \u201cShare\u201d tools area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nSome other options for sharing (located in the \u201cshare\u201d tab) include Google Drive, OneDrive, or Create link.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nIf saved full text appears as HTML code in Google Drive<\/h4>\n\n\n\n When you open your saved full text or detailed record in Google Drive, it may appear as tagged HTML code in the preview window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To view the article without tagged code, click the Open with Google Docs<\/strong> button above the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nSaving your research and creating “Projects” with a MyEBSCO account<\/h3>\n\n\n\n When you create a MyEBSCO account, you can save articles to your dashboard and create “Project” folders that you can access later when you log back into your MyEBSCO account. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Set up your MyEBSCO account<\/h4>\n\n\n\n\nSet up an account by clicking on the “MyEBSCO” icon in the upper right hand corner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\n\nWhen the “MyEBSCO” pop-up appears, click on “Create an account”.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\n\nYou will now be prompted to create your account.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nNOTE:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n\nIf you select \u201cContinue with Google\u201d you can log in with your My小黄猫传媒 username and password. This is the easier way to set up your EBSCO account. <\/li>\n\n\n\n If you \u201ccontinue with email,\u201d you will make up a password that is just for EBSCO.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\nAfter you enter the username and password you want to use (whether through “Continue with Google” or a different email), you will return to the EBSCO search page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nNow when you click on “MyEBSCO” in the upper right corner, you will see that you are logged in. Next time you log into MyEBSCO, choose whichever sign in method you originally signed up with. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Save articles in the “Saved” area of “My dashboard”<\/h4>\n\n\n\n When you are logged into MyEBSCO, you can save articles in the “Saved” area of “My dashboard”. To save articles:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nClick on the blue ribbon icon above the article title. <\/li>\n\n\n\n Click on the down arrow by “My dashboard” in the left navigation to see the “Saved” option in the left navigation menu.<\/li>\n\n\n\n The saved articles will remain in “My dashboard”, in the “Saved” area, after you log out.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n <\/figure>\n\n\n\nCreate a “Project” and save articles to the “Project”<\/h4>\n\n\n\n When you are logged into MyEBSCO you can create “Project” folders, and put articles into named folders in the “Projects” area of “My dashboard”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
