  {"id":23489,"date":"2022-06-01T15:06:48","date_gmt":"2022-06-01T22:06:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/?page_id=23489"},"modified":"2025-03-05T10:04:50","modified_gmt":"2025-03-05T18:04:50","slug":"textbook-affordability-task-force","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/oer\/textbook-affordability-task-force\/","title":{"rendered":"Textbook Affordability Task Force"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2019 state legislation enacted <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/olis.oregonlegislature.gov\/liz\/2023R1\/Measures\/Overview\/HB2213\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OR HB2213<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> which requires every college and university in Oregon to create a textbook affordability plan. 小黄猫传媒\u2019s <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/oer\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Educational Resources (OER) <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Steering Committee was asked by college administration to act as a coordinating group for 小黄猫传媒\u2019s planning process, and during the 2020-21 academic year, we formed the Textbook Affordability Task Force. The Task Force engaged with stakeholders across the college to develop our plan.\u00a0 Groups consulted included faculty, AS小黄猫传媒, Online Learning, Disability Services, the Bookstore, Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, and the Educational Advisory Council (EAC).<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">小黄猫传媒 Textbook Affordability Plan<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In June 2021 the OER Steering Committee presented the final version of the 小黄猫传媒 Textbook Affordability Plan to the Academic Affairs Council and it was submitted to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/openoregon.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Open Oregon Educational Resources<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The plan lays out goals for how 小黄猫传媒 will work collaboratively to ensure equitable and affordable access to course materials. It also ensures that faculty have the financial and technological support, academic freedom, and advanced notice they require to select course materials that are high-quality, relevant, culturally responsive, and accessible in a no-cost\/low-cost model. This is ongoing work that crosses all areas of the college.
