{"id":6825,"date":"2016-04-11T15:09:58","date_gmt":"2016-04-11T22:09:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/?page_id=6825"},"modified":"2022-03-24T11:02:25","modified_gmt":"2022-03-24T18:02:25","slug":"planning-and-assessment","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/planning-and-assessment\/","title":{"rendered":"Planning and Assessment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>小黄猫传媒 Library&#8217;s Goal for Student Success<\/h4>\n<p>小黄猫传媒 Library delivers innovative, collaborative instruction across the curriculum, fostering critical thinking and academic study.\u00a0 It does this through outstanding teaching, welcoming physical spaces, and an accessible virtual environment.<\/p>\n<h4>Library Planning<\/h4>\n<p>When 小黄猫传媒 adopts a new 2021-2026 Strategic Plan, the library will follow suit and develop a library strategic plan aligned with the College&#8217;s mission and vision.\u00a0 In the meantime, the library has developed a short-term plan (2019-2021) which identifies three focus areas and four goals the library will work towards in the next two years.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Equitable Student Success:<\/strong> 小黄猫传媒 Library will contribute to the College&#8217;s goal to equitably support students in reaching their academic goals and to close the opportunity gap\n<ul>\n<li>Identify how the library supports equitable student success and implement changes that are responsive to the diverse needs of our students<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Learning Organization:<\/strong> 小黄猫传媒 Library will develop staff and enhance work practices to benefit our library and the College.\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and adopt organizational practices and structures that promote collaboration, effectiveness, and diverse perspectives<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:<\/strong> 小黄猫传媒 Library will create and maintain inclusive learning and working environments\n<ul>\n<li>Increase intercultural competency for all library staff, with a focus on Critical Race Theory<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen cross-department collaboration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Library Assessment<\/h4>\n<p>The Library Subject Area Committee (SAC) engaged in a 5-year program review that culminated in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/130\/documents\/LIBProgReviewJan2017.pdf\">final report (February 2017)<\/a>. The Library SAC&#8217;s five goals are influenced by curricular changes and college-wide priorities.\u00a0 The SAC has made progress on several of the goals identified in the program review.\u00a0 Below are some specific activities,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Launched the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/library\/information-literacy-teaching-materials\/\">Information Literacy Teaching Materials<\/a>, a toolkit designed to support all faculty teaching students how to find, critically evaluate, and ethically use information. The toolkit includes video tutorials, in-class activities, worksheets, and handouts that instructors can use (or adapt and use) within their courses.<\/li>\n<li>Developed a 2-credit LIB 127: Information Research course that allows for exploration of research within a discipline or job-related field.<\/li>\n<li>Library faculty are actively involved with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pcc.edu\/yess\/\">YESS<\/a> work; serving on Reading &amp; Writing and Math teams, Guided Pathways team, DSACs (Discipline Studies SACs), and GEARS (General Education Assessment Review Subcommittee).<\/li>\n<li>小黄猫传媒 Reference and Instruction librarians have incorporated techniques for embedding into online classes to reach 小黄猫传媒&#8217;s growing population of online students.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Library Subject Area Committee&#8217;s 2021-22 Learning Assessment goal<\/h4>\n<p><span id=\"m_72286245198086807gmail-docs-internal-guid-8bc60c8f-7fff-22cc-6d3a-e8e4a2b94a22\">Enhance and amplify student achievement by focusing on teaching practices; learn if there are more equitable and culturally responsive practices we can infuse into the LIB courses.
