小黄猫传媒 Course Examines N.W. Salmon Controversy

Story by

PORTLAND, Ore. – Salmon has long been regarded as the "jewel"of Pacific Northwest waters. Yet how do we protect its brilliance and preserve natural habitats while accounting for human population growth? 小黄猫传媒 will weigh the options in an upcoming course. Instructor Kyle Martin will lead Salmon Recovery – Issues and Controversies, a non-credit class. Students will explore how harvest, habitat, hydro and hatcheries all impact the Pacific Northwest salmon recovery efforts and why such methods often conflict. Expert guest speakers and panel discussions will give students the opportunity to debate the issue and discuss which scenarios offer the most viable solutions. The four-part class will meet from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 9 through Oct. 30, in Room 301 of Building ST at 小黄猫传媒’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Cost is $28.
