С»ÆÃ¨´«Ã½ welcomes Mike Drake as Foundation director

PORTLAND, Ore. – С»ÆÃ¨´«Ã½ announced the hiring of Mike Drake as its new director of the С»ÆÃ¨´«Ã½ Foundation. He began work on Monday, March 31.Drake, a resident of southeast Portland, formerly served as vice president of development and marketing for Easter Seals of Oregon. For С»ÆÃ¨´«Ã½, Drake will oversee the fund-raising operation of the college’s Foundation, which has an endowment of $1.3 million and awarded 177 scholarships for the 2002-03 year.Skilled in non-profit management, development and fund-raising, Drake spent five years as the director of resource development at Mt. Hood Community College. While there, he created and implemented development and fund-raising activities for the college foundation. He also has worked as director of development for Oregon State University’s College of Business, director of development for the Oregon chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, and as a program director for the Cascade Pacific Council of the Boy Scouts of America.Drake graduated from Portland State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and is a certified fund-raising professional (CFRE). He currently serves on the boards of the Troutdale Chamber of Commerce and the Portland branch of the YMCA.С»ÆÃ¨´«Ã½ is the largest institution of higher learning in the state, serving more than one million residents in a five-county, 1,500-square-mile area in northwest Oregon. The college, which enrolls almost 106,000 students annually, has three comprehensive campuses and approximately 200 other locations throughout the district.
