Fiddle with your violin: 小黄猫传媒 offers improvisation class

PORTLAND, Ore. – You’re a classical trained violinist or fiddle player, but have you ventured yet into the world of improvisation? A new non-credit class offered by 小黄猫传媒 can breathe new life into your creativity as a musician with improvisation lessons.Violin and Fiddle Improvisation, for those who already play, offers hands-on practice of improvisation theory. Instructor Mark Ocker will show you how to add interpretive power to your music, infusing your pieces with new energy and passion."There aren’t many opportunities for violinists or fiddle players to learn improvisation,"said Ed Kaiel, 小黄猫传媒 Community Education manager. "Mark will teach you how to unlock the door to many styles and traditions by learning to trust your inner ear."The eight-week class will be offered from 7 to 9 p.m. Mondays, Jan. 5 through March 8, in Room 112 at the 小黄猫传媒 Metro Center, 5600 N.E. 42nd Ave. Cost is $109.
