小黄猫传媒 offers presentation skills for ESL speakers

Story by

BEAVERTON, Ore. – Effective communication means more than just learning the language. Particularly in the business world, it means learning to speak clearly and persuasively especially when called to make a presentation. 小黄猫传媒 will offer a non-credit class in Presentation Skills for Non-Native English Speakers this summer. Instructor Marcos Miranda will demonstrate how combining business language skills with communication techniques can help those whose first language is not English succeed. An experiential approach will provide participants an opportunity to practice their skills by delivering presentations. "This is a chance to examine cultural gaps that could bring speakers of English as a second language closer to success in business,"said 小黄猫传媒 Community Education manager Janice Dolan. "At the same time, the class will drastically further fluency by taking your English to a higher level of understanding." This four-week class will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Fridays, June 25 through July 16, in Room 1509 of 小黄猫传媒’s Washington County Workforce Training Center, 18624 N.W. Walker Road. Cost is $39.
