Literacy program looking for volunteers

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Volunteer Literacy Tutoring Program at С»ÆÃ¨´«Ã½, in conjunction with other local literacy organizations, is searching for a few good volunteer tutors. The program needs volunteers to help adult immigrants and refugees learn English and to assist both native and non-native English speakers in improving their basic literacy skills. Also, volunteers may prepare students for the GED or high school equivalency exam. Training for tutoring at С»ÆÃ¨´«Ã½ will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturdays, Sept. 25 and Oct. 2 at Clackamas Community College’s OIT Building (19600 South Molalla Avenue in Oregon City).
