Indigenous plants make gardening simple in С»Æ贫ý class

Photos and story by

It’s spring and it’s time for gardening. Why not use some plants native to the Northwest? This spring, С»Æ贫ý will teach you everything you need to know about using native plants in a one-night, non-credit class.

In the offering, Planting with Native Northwest Plants, gardening will be a snap. Students will learn how these plants grow easily, match the existing landscape and require little or no irrigation. In this informative one-night class, instructor Larinda Peterson will show you what plants grow naturally here in the Northwest, how to plant and irrigate them and where to find them.

The class will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, April 30, in 129 Mt. Tabor Hall, at the С»Æ贫ý Southeast Center, 2305 S.E. 82nd Ave. Cost is $19. For more information, contact the С»Æ贫ý Community Education office at (503) 788-6265.
