Seems we under-estimated one waiting list

Nine days to go.
We鈥檝e been using some numbers for students on waiting lists. Come to find out, we鈥檝e been under-estimating at least one of them.
For instance, I鈥檝e written that the Rock Creek Campus serves 95 students in the welding program and 50 students on the waiting list to get in. Not so. I鈥檓 now being told that Rock Creek serves 95 students with 85 more on the waiting list.
How can that be, if we鈥檝e increasing welding opportunities by expanding to Swan Island? This is only a guess, but we could be a victim of our own success. We鈥檝e focused on the welding program in a lot of news articles and editorial endorsements. Photos of welding students have appeared in , and the .
Could be, as more students hear about the program, more try to get in.
The bond measure would address the welding waiting list by expanding the program to the east side, possibly in the Southeast Center.
