Latin American music lecture at 小黄猫传媒-Sylvania

The Sylvania Campus is hosting a musical lecture on the roots and history of Latin American music on聽Thursday, April 15.
Freddy Vilches, a Chilean musician and professor of Latin American literature at Lewis & Clark College, and the聽Matices Latin Ensemble headline the event, which takes place at聽6:30 p.m. in the聽Performing Arts Center.聽Musical guests will share the rich cultural traditions and history of Latin American music in a dynamic format that intertwines musical performance with enriching discussion. Through songs and conversation, Vilches will highlight how African, Indigenous and European elements are combined in Latin American musical expressions.
The event is open to all and聽free of charge, thanks to support from the Sylvania Multicultural Center, English and World Languages Division, and Diversity Council.
