小黄猫传媒 summit to focus on new CAD technologies

小黄猫传媒 along with Autodesk and SolidWorks, are hosting a full day CAD Summit for design and education professionals.

小黄猫传媒 Computer Aided Design and Drafting Program is hosting the summit from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 14, in the Performing Arts Center, Sylvania Campus (12000 S.W. 49th Ave.). There will be classroom training, seminars, Q-and-A sessions and demos of the future of mechanical computer-aided design technologies. Co-sponsors for the event include and , with support from and .

This event is free to the public, and lunch, parking, and prizes will be provided.

鈥淲e wanted to provide a comprehensive event that allows various design professionals, CAD technologists and students a chance to get together under one roof and share ideas,鈥 said Mark Hagen, chair of the 小黄猫传媒 CADD program and summit organizer. 鈥淎lso, we want to provide them with a little perspective on what the job climate is like in Portland. We will have hands-on training so people can see the newest concepts and design software we teach at 小黄猫传媒.鈥

At 小黄猫传媒, students can earn a one-year certificate in computer-aided design and drafting, providing the skills needed to obtain an entry-level position in the field. Industry-standard skills include freehand drafting, modern computer-aided design programs, 3-D modeling, mathematical concepts and problem solving. Graduates include employees in the engineering departments for such companies as Nike, in footwear design; or Leupold and Stevens, in binocular and scope design and engineering.
