Several members of the Oregon House of Representatives, whose districts connect with С»Æ贫ý, have taken leadership roles during the interim between the 2011 and 2012 legislative sessions. A story on Senate leadership positions ran earlier this summer.
The interim appointments have been known in the past as the Emergency Board or E-Board.
Lawmakers in leadership, whose districts intertwine with that of С»Æ贫ý, include:
- Rep. Lew Frederick of North Portland is co-vice chairman of the Interim House Education Committee.
- Rep. Ben Cannon of East Portland is co-chair of the Energy, Environment and Water Committee.
- Rep. Mitch Greenlick of West Portland is co-chair of the Health Care Committee. Rep. Cannon serves as co-vice chair.
- Rep. Michael Dembrow of North Portland is co-chair of the Higher Education Committee.
- Rep. Frederick is co-vice chair of the Human Services Committee.
- Rep. Jeff Barker of West Portland is co-chair of the Judiciary Committee. Rep. Chris Garrett of Lake Oswego serves as co-vice chair.
- Rep. Jules Bailey of East Portland is one of two co-vice chairs for the Revenue Committee, along with Rep. Katie Eyre Brewer of Hillsboro.

The interim committees are expected to meet Sept. 21 to 23; Nov. 16 to 18; and Jan. 18 to 20, 2012. The next legislative session is set for February 2012.
