‘Remembrances’ show off artist’s ‘en plein air’ approach

Now on display inside the at the Rock Creek Campus is Phyllis Trowbridge鈥檚 鈥淩emembrances.鈥
This show, which runs until Nov. 23, brings together a rich sampling of Trowbridge鈥檚 recent works 鈥 all have been made in Oregon within the last two years. What鈥檚 interesting is that she works en plein air鈥攑ainting out of doors, on site鈥攁nd her compositions, in watercolor, charcoal, and oil, capture the beauty and nuances of light, atmosphere, texture, and space.
The Helzer Art Gallery is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturdays. The gallery is located in the Building 3 Mall.
