小黄猫传媒 Foundation gets $12,500 to fund welding scholarships

The Working Waterfront Coalition presented a $12,500 check to 小黄猫传媒 District President Preston Pulliams of behalf of the 小黄猫传媒 Foundation at 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 Swan Island Training Center on Nov. 16.

Pulliams expressed his thanks to the Working Waterfront Coalition and the Industry and Art Exhibit, which provided funds to establish the Working Waterfront Coalition Scholarship at the Foundation.

鈥淭his important scholarship will remove financial barriers for those students seeking education and career training for careers in welding and other skilled trades,鈥 Pulliams said.聽 鈥淪killed welders are a key labor component for manufacturing companies and, locally, there is a shortage of well-trained workers in this vital trade.”

He also said the 小黄猫传媒 Swan Island Training Center was crucial in providing career training opportunities for students, particularly on Swan Island and Portland鈥檚 east side.
