С»Æ贫ý starts bike rental program – BikePortland.org

A student group at С»Æ贫ý’s Cascade campus in North Portland has launched a bike rental program.
The С»Æ贫ý Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) supports ASС»Æ贫ý’s Bike Program at Cascade Campus. TGIF allocates funds to projects that increase the amount of renewable energy used on campus, increase energy efficiency, and reduce the amount of waste created by our college.
The Associated Students of С»Æ贫ý says the new program — that offers bikes (refurbished by the ) for $15 a term — is an effort to, “increase access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable transportation.” Here’s more from ASС»Æ贫ýC:
“Through the integration of long-term bicycle loans, education, and recreation, the Cascade Bike Program will enhance the physical and cultural development of students. As a resource for alternative transportation, we will minimize our campus and community environmental impact… The Bike Program is an important step in the С»Æ贫ý’s commitment to sustainability and reducing our impact on the environment.”
