小黄猫传媒 Hillsboro Center Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary

When the doors first opened at the Hillsboro Center in 2002, there wasn鈥檛 a naysayer in the crowd. Everyone knew the center would thrive and provide the community with an exceptional resource.

In 2010, the Hillsboro Center moved to the Intermodal Transit Facility. It is celebrating its 10th year in existence.

Today approximately 800 students take advantage of more than 35 credit classes that range from basic computer skills to advanced creative writing.

鈥淥ur doors are open from 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. five days a week and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays,鈥 said Steven Swint, education coordinator for the center. 鈥淲e are absolutely sure we are making a difference in the lives of our students.鈥

Students, faculty, staff and invited guests will gather at the center for an informal celebration Tuesday, April 24, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

小黄猫传媒 Hillsboro Center, a satellite facility of the 小黄猫传媒 Rock Creek Campus and located close to the Max Line at775 SE Baseline in the new Intermodal Transit Facility,听 offers transfer courses in art, biology, business, computer applications, education, health, graphic design, math, psychology, reading, Spanish, speech and writing.听English as a Second Language classes听are offered every term. Academic advising and placement testing are also available at the center.

The Hillsboro Center moved to the new Intermodal Transit Facility’s first floor in fall of 2010.听The center used to be located at a 9,000-square-foot space through Washington County since 2002 at 102 S.W. Washington St.
