broke ground Tuesday on the first building of a two-building project to double its Southeast Center and turn the campus into a full-service school.
The $39 million project will add a student commons and a library at the campus. It is funded by a 2008 voter-approved bond that is fueling the school’s growth and allowing it to.
The buildings will face Southeast 82nd Avenue and Southeast Division Street. The new additions will house a bookstore, tutoring center, women’s resource center, multicultural center, classrooms, and science and computer labs. The student commons building will be constructed first and will take about a year. Construction of the library will begin in early 2013.

С»Æ贫ý Southeast Center will more than double in size, from 95,000 square feet to approximately 200,000 square feet, and eventually transform into a full-service, comprehensive campus to serve southeast Portland.
