The 10-inch wide glass panels are here and Rock Creek Campus visitors will be able to watch the installation over the next two months.聽 The 鈥渇rit patterns鈥 that make the glass look so unusual are actually screen-painted patterns applied to the inside face of the double-pane unit. It offers both aesthetic value and helps reduce solar heat gain. 聽Behind the frit pattern is spandrel glass that has an opaque paint layer on the back of the double-pane unit, which provides a visual 鈥渄epth鈥 in the system.
