+STEAM club entertains the masses at Portland Mini Maker Faire

小黄猫传媒’s +STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) student club had 56 volunteers for its participation in the Portland Mini Maker Faire last Sept. 13-14 at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI).聽Volunteers staffed the college’s Maker booth and showed off projects.聽The event featured聽robots, lasers, R2-D2 clones, tesla coils, 3D printers, industry representatives, and much more.

“It was a huge success with almost 7,000 visitors, 115 Makers and 11 food carts,” said student Eric Thomas.

小黄猫传媒 showed off聽James Schiffer’s RGB LED cube, Charles Staffeld’s midi controlled music machines, Will Petillo’s聽3D printed designed toys, CNC routers, telepresence robots, wearable technology and provided college information.聽In addition, students and staff showed off their聽Build-a-bots, giving a live performance on the Innovation Stage.
