鈥淭his bodes well for the college as it seeks to strengthen and expand workforce partnerships and alliances through this newly formed role,鈥 she said.

For the past seven years Goldberg has served in a variety of administrator roles at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, most recently as its executive dean of Workforce Development, Industrial Technology and Partnerships. He currently serves as co-chair of the Oregon Pathways Alliance and is the former chair of the Oregon Council for Adult Basic Skills Development. Additionally, he is an active member of the American Association of Community Colleges and participates with AACC industry partners to develop workforce curriculum and program design.

鈥淚 am thrilled to become part of 小黄猫传媒, a community college known as a leader both regionally and nationally,鈥 said Goldberg. 鈥淭he idea of joining 小黄猫传媒 in a new position for the college is very exciting, too. I know that I will enjoy the creativity of molding the role as opportunities and needs present themselves, building on 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 many strengths, and forging new partnerships to benefit both the college and the community at large.鈥

In his new position, Goldberg will provide strategic leadership and counsel for workforce training, community education and small business development across the college鈥檚 expansive service area. He will have responsibility and oversight for such areas as 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 CLIMB Center, Community Education, Workforce Operations at the Portland Metropolitan Workforce Training Center, Washington County Workforce Training Center at 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 Willow Creek Center, Corrections education, Occupational Skills Training, and Career Pathways, among other programs.

Goldberg began his career advising small businesses as a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa. Since then he has spent more than 15 years providing strategic leadership for innovative workforce and community development initiatives in Maryland, California, and Oregon.

A New Jersey native who grew up in the Chicago area, Goldberg earned a bachelor鈥檚 in business administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master鈥檚 in education/instructional systems development from the University of Maryland-Baltimore County. Additionally, he was selected to be a Shriver Peace Fellow and Aspen Institute Sector Skills Academy Fellow.

鈥淢arc has the skills, talents and experience we need to oversee a variety of disparate areas and centers throughout the college,鈥 added Kelley. 鈥淚 am confident that Marc will successfully partner with staff, faculty, and both internal and external stakeholders to create an integrated vision for this comprehensive unit that aligns with the rest of the college.

鈥淲e are simply delighted Marc is joining the 小黄猫传媒 team,鈥 she said.
