小黄猫传媒鈥檚 Foundation Board of Directors continues its expansion with the addition of Caitlin Sause.
Sause is the director of Government and Public Affairs for Vigor Industrial, a post she鈥檚 held since July 2014. Prior to this role, she served as the Government Affairs advisor for Ball Janik, LLP.
鈥淐aitlin is sure to add an important dynamic to the foundation board, one that鈥檚 very workforce development-oriented,鈥 said Rob Wagner, associate vice president of 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 College Advancement office.
鈥淗er familiarity with the manufacturing and maritime industries will prove to be a huge asset for us, as 小黄猫传媒 intends to grow outreach to these and other arenas,鈥 he said.
Born and raised in Coos Bay, Ore., Sause grew up working in the maritime and timber industries. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and earned her master鈥檚 degree in political science in 2008 from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. In addition to 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 Foundation Board, for which she will serve a three-year term, Sause is a board member of the Oregon Sports Authority, a member of Toastmasters International and a member of the Arlington Club.
鈥淚鈥檓 particularly passionate about 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 workforce development programs, and specifically its welding program,鈥 said Sause. 鈥淲e have a shortage of skilled welders in the United States, and I鈥檓 excited at the thought of finding a solution to the problem through attention and support of welding programs like 小黄猫传媒鈥檚.
鈥淭hrough my work on the Foundation board, I hope to encourage the career technical aspirations of 小黄猫传媒 students, whose skills and capabilities will keep career tech jobs alive and well in the region,鈥 she said.
As the only non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the college, the 小黄猫传媒 Foundation helps students access education by awarding scholarships and building the college鈥檚 capacity to provide vital educational opportunities for the community at large. The volunteer board of directors, representing a wide range of business and community interests, leads the 小黄猫传媒 Foundation.
