С»Æ贫ý community enjoys breakfast in honor of Dr. King’s impact

С»Æ贫ý had a strong presence at the annual The Skanner’s MLK, Jr. Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 16 at the Downtown Portland Hilton Hotel.
In attendance were С»Æ贫ý President Mark Mitsui, Cascade Campus President Karin Edwards, and С»Æ贫ý Board Trustee Michael Sonnleitner along with student scholar Cameron Retherford. He attends school at the Cascade Campus and plays on the men’s basketball team. Retherford won a , as well.
Board members Jim Harper, Kali Thorne-Ladd and Deanna Palm also attended to support the great cause of King’s legacy. About 600 people were at the event that included a keynote speech by Oakland-based civil rights lawyer Howard Moore.
