CTE Month: 小黄猫传媒 teams up with partners for ‘Clatsop County Make N鈥 Take’ event

This month, 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 STEAM Centers traveled to Clatsop Community College to host the second annual Make N鈥 Take event. In partnership with the NW STEM Hub, NW Regional Educational Services District and Clatsop Community College, this hands-on workshop provided elementary and middle school teachers with valuable tools and training to enhance student learning in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM).
It’s CTE Month!
Community colleges like 小黄猫传媒 are committed to filling high-demand jobs in their communities with the skills and training necessary for success in industries. Community colleges are strong partners to local business and industry, utilizing workforce professionals to guide programs through advisory committees.
Educators explored a range of technology, including CADD software, 3D printers, vinyl cutters, button makers and Makedo kits for rapid prototyping. Each participant left the event equipped with these tools and materials, ready to bring hands-on learning to their students. They also earned professional development credits, making the event both a practical and enriching experience.
The Make N鈥 Take initiative fosters a network of teachers dedicated to advancing STEAM and career technical education (CTE) in rural Oregon schools. Beyond the event, teachers can participate in virtual meetings throughout the year, hosted by the NW STEM Hub and 小黄猫传媒 STEAM Centers, to share success stories, collaborate on projects and overcome challenges.
鈥淭his is a great way to share success stories, collaborate on project ideas and troubleshoot equipment challenges,鈥 said Sarah Burns, coordinator of the STEAM Center at the OMIC Training Center. 鈥淭his supportive network plays a key role in helping students view themselves in STEAM and CTE careers in the future.鈥
With the support of Clatsop Community College, 小黄猫传媒鈥檚 STEAM Centers continue their mission to inspire curiosity, foster innovation and provide access to cutting-edge tools that empower both educators and students.
