JetBot Collision Avoidance
This hands-on introductory workshop introduces students to machine learning, computer vision, and real-time obstacle navigation through applied robotics. Working in collaborative teams with Jetson Nano-powered JetBots, participants explore how camera-based perception models process visual input to mimic human sight and make dynamic driving decisions. Students collect image datasets, label objects, and fine-tune machine learning models to program autonomous collision avoidance behaviors鈥攁llowing bots to detect, stop for, or steer around physical obstacles in a scavenger hunt environment. The workshop emphasizes real-time data accuracy, model training workflows, and the ethical considerations of AI vision systems in real-world autonomous technology.
