Details about this class

This course introduces and develops the skill and related knowledge of soldering at the circuit level. It includes knowledge and practice with tools for soldering, desoldering, proper maintenance, soldering through-hole and surface mount components, soldering stranded and solid core wire, safety, and awareness of standards such as RoHS and IPC quality requirements. Towards the end of the course, students build and demonstrate two electrically functioning electronics kits with extensive soldering.

Students will need to purchase from Amazon a kit for the final project. Details will be available as the term progresses.
