Come learn about composting, whether you live in an apartment, house or out in the country. We will take about methods that work for you! You can also sign-up for the Thursday 鈥渂uild a worm bin composter鈥 where you will be able to take home a fully functioning worm bin. Oregon Climate and Citizen’s Climate Lobby

It features guest speakers, including President Jeremy Brown, Professor Toby Dittrich, 聽Ms. Elizabeth Zavodsky ( Northwest earth Institute ), Sylvania Campus President Linda Gerber, Michael Armstrong ( Sustainability Manager, City of Portland), Secretary Bill Bradbury (Former Oregon Secretary of State and Member of Northwest Energy Planning Council), Representative Earl Blumenauer (Oregon Congressman).

Take Back the Tap

The Environmental Club invites you to learn about how Americans have bought into the myth that bottled water is purer and healthier than tap water. This misconception is largely the result of crafty marketing tactics from the bottled water industry, but the truth is that the federal government requires more rigorous safety monitoring of municipal tap water than it does of bottled water. 小黄猫传媒 Sylvania Habitat Restoration Team Work Party!
9 am until noon, meet at Parking Lot 10
We will meet at Parking Lot 10 (the most northeast parking lot kitty corner to the bookstore) at 9 am and then walk down to Sylvania Natural Area Park (SNAP!). 聽We will meet with Janelle St. Pierre of Portland Parks and Recreation, who will lead us in invasive species removal that day focusing on ivy, blackberry, and assorted other weeds. 聽We will have water, tools, gloves, and a few snacks. 聽Be sure to dress for the weather and to get a little muddy. 聽Blackberries can be prickly, so be sure to have long sleeves and pants! 聽Let鈥檚 help the Earth by letting some of our native species in this park get more of an advantage! 聽For more information, email afong@pcc.edu or call 971-722-4422. 聽If you would like to be a Habitat Team leader, you would be most welcome!
