Linux

The hardest part of accessing the С»Æ贫ýWiFi service from Linux (including Android) is that the configuration interface can vary widely. These settings are general and interface-neutral. Depending on the client (“supplicant”), when it first interacts with the access point it might fill in some of the needed settings. Again, this can vary. Anything required that isn’t auto-filled must be added by hand.

Here are the settings; they may not appear in this order.

  1. The security mode should be “WPA/WPA2 Enterprise” – the client might display it differently but it should look like this.
  2. The authentication method is protected EAP (PEAP).
  3. The anonymous identity can be left blank or unchanged.
  4. If there’s a “domain” field then it should be set to ““. This is perhaps the easiest setting to get wrong or omit, and some clients won’t work without it.
  5. The PEAP version should be “automatic”.
  6. The inner authentication method should be “MSCHAPv2”.
  7. The username is the MyС»Æ贫ý username.
  8. The password is your MyС»Æ贫ý password.
  9. Note: There may be a need to check the “No certificate is required” box, depending upon your OS versioning
Google Pixel 2
  1. EAP method: PEAP
  2. Phase 2 authentication: none
  3. CA certificate: System Certificate
  4. Domain: pcc.edu
  5. Identity: your С»Æ贫ý username
  6. Anonymous identity: leave blank
  7. Password: your MyС»Æ贫ý password

How secure is it?

С»Æ贫ý-Wireless uses an 802.1x secure network protocol. It is encrypted from your device to the wireless network access point. However, you should always be cautious when entering personal information such as passwords, or credit card numbers. If you are in doubt, wait until you have a wired connection before submitting any personal information over the internet.
