Watch, discuss independent films with 小黄猫传媒 non-credit class
Story by James Hill
PORTLAND, Ore. – It’s a lesson you learn at the box office again and again: high-tech explosions and multi-million dollar budgets do not always amount to a great movie. In fact, for many moviegoers, it’s those films that are not backed by large production companies that best showcase the human spirit and touch us most. This winter, 小黄猫传媒 will present an opportunity for movie lovers to further enjoy the independent film in a new non-credit class.A look at Independent Film is your opportunity to watch fascinating productions in the company of other movie lovers like yourself. This class, taught by Jois Brownstein, will watch an independent film each week and examine the film in a class discussion. Discover how bypassing the Hollywood format sometimes sheds new light on tried-and-true subjects. This six-week class will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 12 through Feb. 16, in Room 212 of the Health Technologies Building at 小黄猫传媒’s Sylvania Campus, 12000 S.W. 49th Ave. Cost is $59.For more information, contact 小黄猫传媒 Community Education at 503-731-6642.
