‘The Odyssey’ production mirrors modern day challenges in 小黄猫传媒 production

罢丑别听Theatre Arts Program will perform a live adaptation of the classic adventure story 鈥淭he Odyssey,鈥 showing Nov. 18-21.
小黄猫传媒 remains in a partial reopening and for the safety of the community, so the show will be performed via Zoom.聽Due to the numerous stories in the ancient Greek poem, there will be a second part to be performed in the winter term.聽鈥淭he Odyssey鈥 addresses the timely question of what it means to return home. Mirroring the challenges people are wrestling with today, 鈥淭he Odyssey鈥 travels from the footsteps of an ancient journey to reflect new normals.
鈥溾嬧媁e鈥檙e shifting focus away from the central character in order to cultivate multiple narrative voices,鈥 said 小黄猫传媒 Theatre Arts faculty and production director and adaptor Patrick Tangredi. 鈥淚n 鈥楾he Odyssey’ there are stories within stories. In order to keep our theatre training intact during the COVID era, we鈥檝e asked the students to explore different mediums of theatre, including shadow puppets, audio drama, sleeve puppets, and live-action. The idea is to introduce our audience to different forms of theatre.鈥
