Apply to the Fire/Paramedic degree

To join this program, students must apply for admission. Graduates earn an Associate of Applied Science degree.

This is a dynamic degree that prepares students for dual roles in fire response and emergency medical services. The program includes three components: the Fire Academy, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) coursework, and Paramedic coursework. The Fire Academy leads to International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC) Firefighter I and II certification. EMT coursework leads to Oregon EMT licensure. Paramedic coursework leads to national Paramedic certification.

The Fire Academy is offered twice per year, in the spring and fall. EMT coursework and Oregon EMT licensure must be completed before enrolling in the Paramedic coursework.

Students should work with the Emergency Medical Services and Fire Protection advisor, Michelle Butler, to learn more about enrolling in the Fire Academy and creating their Fire/Paramedic degree plan.
